SNSD awalnya dibantu oleh Super Junior?

Kelompok ini mengawali debut mereka dengan 2 album sekligus di tahun 2007. Pertama mini album Into The new World pada bulan Agustus, lalu album Girls Generation dirilis November. Tapi 2 langkah awal ini kurang begitu meledak.
Makanya, ketika awal tahun 2008 mereka mempromosikan single ‘Kissing You’, GG terpaksa mengajak Donghae dari Super Junior menjadi modelnya. Trik ini ternyata cukup berhasil. Ketika dirilis dalam bentuk album, popularitas SNSD langsung merangkak naik. Terbukti mereka diikutkan dalam konser SMTOWN LIVE’8 bersama musisi yang lebih dulu bersinar seperti BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, CSJH the Grace, Xhang Liyin, dan SHINee.
Setelah itu,  mereka mulai tur ke Thailand dan RRC. Sebelum itu, salah satu personil SNSD (Yoona) juga dijadikan model oleh Super Junior dalam video klip. dan ini cukup memperkenalkan siapa itu SNSD dalam masyarakat.
Tahun 2009, Girls Generation baru benar-benar meraih nama besarnya, setelah lagu Gee berhasil menjadi lagu nomor satu yang bertahan lama (8minggu) di Mnet,mengalahkan lagu Nobody-nya Wonder Girls. Lagu Gee juga memecahkan rekor acara Music Bank di KBs yang sebelumnya milik Jewelry dengan lagu One More Time.
Lagu Gee ini juga dirilis dalam versi bahasa Jepang

Sampai akhi8r 2010, Girls Generation sudah meraih sekita 50 penghargaan ata award dari berbagai events. Prestasi ini mereka raih setelah cukup produktif berkarir dan menghasilkan puluhan karya, baik berupa full-album, mini album, maupun single.
